Dear Parents,
In the next five weeks your child will be studying Earth Science. We’ve got a lot of hands-on ideas to illustrate some scientific principles. Please help our department by sending in some of the following items. You will notice that some items on this list have been checked (on the copy of the letter we sent out from class). If you can send those and anything else that is on this list we would greatly appreciate it as well.
_X_ 1 hard-boiled egg on Tuesday (if you have a few extra we will use them well)
___ 1 box of Oreo cookies
___ 1 box of chocolate chip cookies (home made with nuts and several different kinds of chunks is helpful-need 20)
___ 1 loaf of sliced white bread
___ 1 loaf of sliced brown bread
___ 1 loaf of raisin bread
___ 1 jar of creamy peanut butter
___ 1 jar of chunky peanut butter
___ 1 jar of jelly or jam
___ a container of sprinkles
___ 1 bag of chocolate chips
___ 1 box of baking soda
___ 1 bottle of white vinegar
___ 1 box of salt
___ 1 bag of bamboo skewers
___ a box of paper plates
___ food coloring
___ a box of cornstarch
___ 1 pkg of macaroni, shell, or penne pasta
We can also use glass jars, old crayons you don’t need back, interesting rocks, rock tumblers, etc. And if you are or know a rock-hound/geologist who might like to come into our class, please let me know.
Grateful for your help and support,
Gingerlily
