Thank you families for sending us such wonderful goodies for our Halloween. They were delicious and fun! And they made our special day memorable. Also thank you parents who came in to help, and special thanks to Juli who made our delicious decorating activity! Woo hoo!
On November 3, 2011 the elementary program will be doing their first department presentations of the year. Presentations will take place @ 11:00am – 1:00 pm in the library. (Students in the Marine Science Department will be 4th to present.)
Presentations are an important part of our learning experience. Students learn a lot by participating as an audience member and also by their having to make a presentation in front of an audience. So we encourage students to attend the entire presentation period so that they can both watch others, and also deliver a presentation with their department group.
Presentations are always a lot of fun and we hope that you will be able to join us.
We are also just finishing up Unit 3 in our Math program. On Thursday, our homeroom will be making study notes to go over before the test on Friday, November 4th. Please take some time to review multiples and factors with your child. They also should make up addition and subtraction number stories to practice. Students are expected to know their multiplication and division facts, to use a map scale, solve open sentences, and use parentheses in math operations. Have your child practice solving “What’s My Rule?” problems.
Happy Dia De Los Muertos!
